We are delighted to announce that we have won the Supreme British Cider Champion award at the 2022 British Cider Championships at the Bath and West.

Tor Cider Company is our own cider brand made here at our winery using apples from four of our orchards. 

We made this superb Traditional Method cider from organic Bramley apples.
The first fermentation was in brand new World Cooperage American oak barrels which produced a sensational base cider with incredible acidity softened by a delicious vanilla note.
As per our wine the second fermentation was in the bottle using IOC Champagne yeast. This has been followed by an exceptional six years of "ageing on the lees”. 
The result is quite exquisite, Fresh apple peel aroma with smokey vanilla undercurrent. Racy acidity, powerful mousse and an background of those autolytic characters that you find in a fine sparkling wine.

This is such an underrated category. All credit to artisan cider makers who have acquired the knowledge to make Traditional Method sparkling cider.

We present ours here as a tribute to the select band of cider professionals who have the vision, nerve, knowledge and patience to craft ciders like this.
